Character Biography: With his home country of Japan destroyed by the Horseman of Apocalypse, Sunfire was captured by Death and subjected to brutal experiments to test the limits of his mutant powers. By the time Death was finished, Sunfire was constantly on fire, his body consuming itself in eternal superheated flame. Rescued and recruited by the X-Men, Sunfire was fitted with a protective suit that shields him from the devastating effects of his own power.
