Dr. Zaius - Minister of Science in charge of advancing ape knowledge and Chief Defender of the Faith. He has access to ancient scrolls and other information not given to the ape masses. Zaius knows the true origins of the ape society, and how humanity fell from its position as the dominant species.
Cornelius - An archeological scientist and member of the scientific staff of Dr. Zaius. While supporting the status quo, Cornelius has begun to question the infallibility of the Sacred Scrolls and is considering the validity of evolution (specifically, from human to ape) to explain the scientific gaps in the scrolls.
Gorilla Soldier - More brutish by nature and heavily armed, the soldiers of the Gorilla Army strictly enforce law and Order in ape society and guard against threats from the Forbidden Zone. Punishment comes swiftly for law-breakers, as well as for any wild humans caught stealing ape crops.
